SILKROOM
Apartment Conversion, Berlin-Charlottenburg, 2002

Silkroom is a bastard of furniture and a room. One large architectural object occupies the space and changes the perception of the existing room. While sleeping, relaxing, reading, working and storing things, one can explore new views of the room. The object has a shiny, mutter of pearl varnish on the outside, like the light skin of our client. Certain elements are cut out, flipped and turned, forming a walk-in-closet, a bed, a sideboard, a desk and several shelves. The interface is mahogany-red (mahgony-imitation on chipboard).
